Ides of March

Day 80 of OUR 365 Day Odyssey

Caesar: The ides of March are come.
Soothsayer: Aye, Caesar, but not gone.
—Julius Caesar, Act III, Scene 1

The Ides of March is a day for settling debts (in Caesar’s case the debt collected was a heavy one). Today, I have a debt I want to settle with myself – it is a debt of gratitude. I owe a debt of gratitude to a body that has withstood the test of time, withstood weight gain, and lack of “good” food and exercise. I owe a debt of gratitude to myself for deciding to take control of my life by eating right, getting enough sleep, and making time for exercise (and myself). Why not settle a debt with yourself today. You can start by telling yourself “thank you” for always being there.
